Ptara is run by Vasco Phillip de Sousa. The information held by Vasco Phillip de Sousa in relation to this business may be later transferred to a corporation, charity or cooperative that takes over the operations of this website and related business. Vasco Phillip de Sousa also has help from other people who help out in the business who agree to keep your information confidential. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll refer to the website and information related to it as Ptara.

We value your privacy, and do not send any data you send us to any third party.

We do, however, store the information you send online, with third party services including our web host and 3rd party email providers.  Some of these have their servers, or back up servers, outside of your native area.

Our database is stored in both the United States and the European Union, and some information is backed up in other countries.

We use the information you voluntarily provide to us to better serve you.  This information is treated confidentially.  Anything you send via email, or a form on our site, or by using our site, is stored.

We also, from time to time, do research on our clients.  We do this to serve you better, and to make articles more interesting and pertinent.

Before we process any market research data, we create demographic copies of data without any personally identifiable information.   So the data you provide might help us say that a percentage of our readers are in a certain general geographical area, or age group, or another category provided by the data you provide.  However, we are careful to make sure that the data is not so specific that individuals can be identified by it.

If, however, you post a comment to the blog or to another part of our website, everything you post can be made public. We will sometimes cut or delete posts to protect information we feel is sensitive on a personal level.

Exceptions: We do, from time to time, gather information that is publicly available on the Internet or through other media. If you are a celebrity, politician, head of a large company (or university or charity), or otherwise significant individual, your information may be stored without your permission. This information is stored in relation to potential news stories, and we will not delete it. For instance, if you are the President of the United States or China, or a likely candidate for either post, we feel the people have a right to know what you are up to.

If you owe us money, we will keep that information until we are paid in full, and the money has cleared.  We reserve the right to keep any information regarding business dealings that is needed for taxation, ownership or for legal purposes.

Also, this website links to other websites, and it contains information related to guest writers. Ptara does not control the content of external websites, and these websites may gather your data in ways we don’t know about. Please check these websites if you have concerns about how they might use your information.

Guest writers are normally not employed by Ptara and they have their own policies concerning information you provide to them.

If you wish your past communications or any of your personal details to be deleted from our electronic storage, or if you wish to know if we have any information about you, please contact us at concerns@ptara.com or by telephone or other means.

At Ptara, we believe in freedom of expression and freedom of speech, but we also believe that confidential information about non-public individuals should remain confidential.

By using this website, you agree not to seek out confidential information related to Ptara’s users, and not to share information about others which you are not authorized to share. If you break these terms, or otherwise threaten the privacy of any of Ptara’s users, your account will be subject to termination and other actions, including but not limited to legal actions, could be taken to protect the privacy of our users.

If you know of, or suspect that, anyone is misusing the information held by Ptara, or is attempting to gain access to that information, please inform us at concerns@ptara.com or by telephone or other means.

Thank you for contributing to Ptara. Please let us know how we can make your experience more enjoyable.
